We are excited to introduce Północna Izba Gospodarcza (NCC), the Northern Chamber of Commerce, as an essential partner in the PEARL project. Established in 1997 and based in Szczecin, Poland, NCC is the largest chamber of commerce in Poland, representing 1,500 companies, with a particular focus on micro-enterprises. As a key player in the region, NCC plays a central role in supporting local businesses, providing a wide range of services, including VET training, networking opportunities, financial assistance, and lobbying. Their mission aligns seamlessly with the goals of the PEARL project—to promote sustainable business practices and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) literacy among SMEs.
Why NCC is Relevant for PEARL
NCC’s extensive experience in supporting SMEs and VET organisations, coupled with their deep understanding of sustainability and ESG issues, makes them an invaluable partner for the PEARL project. The project’s focus on creating SDG awareness and promoting ESG practices is highly relevant to NCC’s ongoing efforts to equip businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the growing importance of ESG regulations. With ESG Assessment and Reporting soon becoming mandatory for most EU companies, NCC’s active involvement in international projects—particularly in areas like SME cooperation with higher education institutions and business advisers training—positions them perfectly to help shape the project's activities and ensure the outcomes are directly applicable to local businesses.
NCC’s role in the PEARL project will be instrumental, particularly in disseminating the project’s results and ensuring the engagement of SMEs with the developed training resources and toolkits. The Chamber’s vast network and experience in EU project management will also ensure that the project progresses smoothly, with all financial and administrative requirements being met with high standards.
NCC’s Role in PEARL
NCC will actively contribute to several critical work packages in PEARL, especially in the areas of dissemination and engagement with SMEs. Their expertise in research and needs analysis, combined with their large network of member companies, will be crucial in ensuring that the PEARL project reaches the right audience and provides businesses with actionable, practical solutions. Additionally, their experience with pilot testing, evaluation, and dissemination will help ensure the effective rollout and uptake of the ESG training materials and risk assessment tools.
NCC will also contribute to WP3 (Training Resources and Toolbox Development) and WP4 (ESG Risk Assessment Application), particularly in the areas of SME involvement and the testing and validation of tools. Their involvement will help ensure that the developed resources are practical, relevant, and tailored to the needs of SMEs, especially those in the early stages of integrating ESG into their business practices.
